I had a mixed experience at Hotel Abest Hakuba. While the staff was truly exceptional and went above and beyond, the hotel itself fell short in several areas. The walk to the lift station was a hassle, and the room lacked essential storage, making it less comfortable. I appreciated the decent onsen and some good food options, but overall, the value for the price I paid wasn't justified.

Rooms
5.0
Our room was quite small with no storage options, only a few coat hangers and a thin toilet roll. It felt cramped for our needs.
Service
10.0
The staff was amazing—always cheerful, helpful, and accommodating. They truly made our stay better.
Location
6.0
The location is decent, but the claim of being ski in/ski out is misleading. It was a long uphill walk to the lift station, which was a bit disappointing.
Dining
6.0
The food varied, with some excellent dishes but often served cold. Breakfast options could have been improved.
Facilities
7.0
The onsen was a highlight, and the toiletries were of good quality. However, the ski storage facilities were inadequate.

My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba had its ups and downs. The staff were absolutely amazing and genuinely helpful, which made the experience more enjoyable. However, the hotel itself was disappointing with misleading claims about ski access and lack of basic amenities. The rooms were cramped and didn't have proper storage, while the dining experience often left much to be desired with cold food. Overall, not worth the price paid considering the overall quality.

Rooms

The room was small and cramped, lacking storage space which made it difficult to manage ski gear and other belongings. The bedding was uncomfortable and stained, detracting from the stay.
Service
10.0
The staff were incredible, providing helpful assistance and even went out of their way to address problems, but I was still left frustrated by the hotel's issues.
Location
6.0
While it was close to the Goryu ski resort, the claim of being ski in/ski out was exaggerated, requiring a challenging walk uphill to reach the lifts.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a mixed bag; some dishes were quite enjoyable, but most of the food was served cold and the buffet style didn't help.
Facilities
6.0
The onsen was nice, but the lack of heated ski storage was a downside, making it inconvenient to manage wet gear after skiing.

My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba was a mixed experience. While the staff were outstanding and accommodating, the hotel didn't live up to its claims. The location is decent, but the walk to the lift station can be tough. The room was too small and lacked storage, making it less comfortable than I'd hoped. Overall, it felt overpriced given the quality of the accommodations.

The hotel is not truly ski in/ski out, and the uphill walk to the lift can be challenging, especially in snowy conditions.
Dining

Dining was hit or miss, with some dishes cold and others quite good, but it lacked variety and found us out of staples like milk at breakfast.

My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba was quite the mixed bag. The staff really stood out with their exceptional service and willingness to help, which was a highlight of our trip. However, the hotel itself was disappointing in several areas, particularly the lack of housekeeping and proper ski storage facilities. Overall, while the location is convenient for access to the ski lifts, I felt the value for money didn’t quite match the price we paid.

The location was great, just a few minutes’ walk to the lift station, which is unbeatable for skiers, but be prepared for the uphill walk back.

My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba was quite the mixed experience. While the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the hotel itself left much to be desired. It's not truly ski in/ski out, and the conditions regarding housekeeping and room amenities were disappointing. However, the onsen was a highlight, and certain food items were tasty. Overall, it felt overvalued for what was offered at £250 per night.

The room was small and lacking in storage space, with only a few coat hangers. The bedding was not very comfortable, and there was nowhere to dry wet ski gear.
Service

The staff was incredibly nice and went out of their way to help, including providing mattress toppers for the hard beds and assisting my wife during a hospital visit.
Location
6.0
The location is decent for accessing ski lifts, although it's a short uphill walk which can be tricky in the winter. It's not as convenient as advertised.
Dining
5.0
The food was a mix of decent and less appealing dishes, with many items served cold. However, certain selections like the miso soup and dim sum were enjoyable.
Facilities
6.0
While the onsen was a great facility, the ski storage was not heated, making it uncomfortable for drying gear after a day on the slopes.
